Holding masters' degrees in architecture and business administration and a bachelor degree in organizational psychology, Himat applies a holistic approach and framework to every design opportunity by taking in to account the ecological, social, economic, and spiritual aspects of each project.
Balancing academia with real-world application — Himat has worked with organizations — from Fortune 100 companies, like Siemens Energy and Automation, to small, local, non-profits, such as Portland, Oregon's Kundalini Yoga community.
Much of Himat's work has been in the research, design, and development of Eco-Villages and sustainable communities — in both developed and developing countries around the world.
To date, Himat's design and development influence is seen in Oregon, Arizona, New Mexico, and Nicaragua.
